COBRA Subsidy Ends

The U.S. Congress failed to include an extension of the COBRA subsidy in the latest jobs bill.  Employees who are terminated June 1, 2010 or later are not eligible for the 65% COBRA subsidy.

Employers should begin using the non-subsidy COBRA notices for all employees terminated June 1, 2010 or later.  Employers have 44 days from the date of the qualifying event to send the COBRA notice.
